WHO
CAN PLAY?
|
All
players must be 18 years of age or older. |
WAIVERS:
|
All
players, including subs, must complete an online
waiver prior to playing in any league or event. |
OFFICIATING:
|
All leagues are self-officiated. If you are unable to resolve an issue at the game, questions about rules, policies etc. should be directed to the ESSC office. |
| EC's: |
Badminton has Event Coordinators
(ECs) who help coordinate leagues by bringing equipment,
setting up courts and reporting scores. ECs play for FREE.

HOW TO REGISTER:
|
All registrations can be submitted online. If you are unable to pay via credit card online, you can pay via cash or debit at the ESSC Office. |
CANCELLATIONS:
|
Cancellations must be submitted 2 business days prior to the registration deadline in order to receive a full refund. After this time, no player or team will be eligible for a full or partial refund or credit. |
WEATHER POLICY:
|
Games for indoor sports are never cancelled as a result of poor weather or road conditions. |
DEFAULTS:
|
All players should understand the default policy. |
SCHEDULES:
|
Schedules are posted a minimum of 2 business days before the first game of the season. |
GAME TIMES:
|
Weekday games may have start times ranging from 6:00PM to 10:30PM. Weekend games may start anywhere from 8:00AM to 10:30PM. Games may be played on long weekends. Games will also be scheduled during major sporting events. |
PLAYER REQUIREMENTS :
|
2 players with at least 1 female on the
court at all times. In order to avoid defaulting during regular season games, a male may play by himself in the event a female does not attend. |
EQUIPMENT:
|
In
the event a player does not have his/her own, the ESSC
can provide a racquet and provides shuttles for all games. |
| PERMITS: |
ECs will bring gym permits. |
| PLAYER
MEETINGS: |
There are no Players Meetings for Badminton leagues. |
| SCORES:
|
ECs
report the scores to the ESSC. |
| FACILITIES: |
All
games are played out of public and private facilities
throughout Edmonton. Any player or team which causes the
ESSC to receive a complaint from a facility will be subject
to a $100 fine plus the cost of any damages. To learn
