Head Games Coordinator Trainer Job

The Edmonton Sport and Social Club (ESSC) is currently looking to fill the Head GC Trainer position. The Head Trainer will be working directly with the Field Advisor who manages the day-to-day operations of the Games Coordinator Program. This position is great for individuals who have leadership experience, enjoy teaching and coaching, or for those looking for an exciting opportunity in a sports organization.

General Overview:
The ESSC is an adult co-ed recreational sports league provider that operates year round. Leagues are comprised of four distinct seasons throughout the year, with each season operating over an 8 – 12 week time frame. The successful candidate will work year round, with the heaviest workloads coming in the Fall and Winter seasons, when indoor leagues are operating at full capacity. There will be some down-time between seasons and during the slower indoor seasons (Summer).

Responsibilities:
• Learn all five indoor sports (Floor Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Dodgeball, Handball) that comprise the GC program and master the rules of each sport.
• Train as a GC for each of the five sports and work actual ESSC game nights.
• Learn the operations of the GC Program from the Field Advisor (FA) and master the GC Training binder material.
• Help train new Games Coordinators hired by the ESSC.
• Perform ESSC game visits and coach/mentor other Games Coordinators.
• Perform mid-season evaluations Games Coordinator’s.
• Administrative duties, including: game reports, evaluations, GC feedback, emails to the FA, and other correspondence with the ESSC.
• Other duties as assigned by the Field Advisor or Manager of League Operations.
• Assisting with emergency phone calls during game nights (1-2 nights per week).

Start Date: September 2016

Hours: 20-25 hours per week.
The Head Trainer must be available during the evenings on most game nights (6:00 pm – 11:00 pm). Some weekend work will be required (1-2 Tournaments per season).

Compensation: $18.00/hour + Bonus
Bonus available, based on a 6 month contract. The bonus and a potential raise are contingent upon a Performance Review completed by the Field Advisor and Facility Manager of League Operations.
