DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS

Division

                                                       Description

Recreational

This division will feature teams that may have some skilled players, but also many inexperienced players and the team as a whole is just in it for the fun. If several of the players are hard kicking and quite competitive in nature then the team should move up to a higher level. Teams in this division must have a “fun first” approach to every game. In this division, sportsmanship ratings will have a more direct impact on each team's standings than in higher divisions.
Note: Teams that register for Recreational but have had good success in this level will likely be moved up to a higher division before the season starts.

Recreational Plus

This division is for more experienced and successful teams. Players can pass, shoot and handle the ball with more accuracy, and the team is looking for a little higher challenge than the Recreational (starter) level. Not all players need to be highly skilled; it is more about the average skill and competitiveness of the team as a whole.
Note: This is not a super competitive division, it will just feature teams that are better than starter level. Teams that register for Recreational Plus but have had good success in this level will likely be moved up to a higher division before the season starts.

DIVISION NOTES

(1) SSC division offerings are based on the experience and skill level of the teams - not on their competitive behaviour. All SSC players are expected to play with a ‘fun-first, winning second’ attitude regardless of their division.

(2) The SSC may move your team up or down a division based on past results or the quality of other teams that have registered this season. Seeding for 2-3 weeks is another option the Club uses to re-align teams into the appropriate level after registering.

(3) Because the SSC does not host try-outs, teams/individuals/groups are expected to read the division descriptions and place themselves in the most appropriate division. If players are unsure of which division to register for, they are welcome to contact the office anytime for advice.
