Position: Marketing
& Special Events Manager
General Overview: This is an exciting full-time career opportunity. The ESSC
is Edmonton’s largest recreational sport and social
organization and we are looking for someone to grow, manage
and maintain our Special Events and Marketing program.
The successful applicant will step into a position with high
expectations and a lot of responsibility. The three main focuses
will be:
1. Plan and organize Tournaments and Parties (2-3 per month)
2 . Develop, manage and implement marketing tactics for league
promotion such as radio campaigns, street teams, web updates
etc.
3 . Develop and manage sponsorship relationships
In addition to managing our events and marketing program the
successful applicant will also play a role in ensuring our
leagues remain successful. A small portion of the Coordinator's
week will be spent assisting the staff with administrative
duties such as scheduling, sportsmanship and standings.

Hours: Full-time
hours (40-45 per week). Weeknight or weekend work can be offset
by time-off during weekdays, taking long weekends etc.
Rate of pay:
$42,000 Salary plus $5,000 in bonuses and $1,500+ in benefits
* Semi-annual performance evaluations facilitate growth in
responsibilities and compensation

Responsibilities:
- Develop annual events line-up (Tournaments, Parties, Socials,
Ski Trips etc)
- Plan all details relating to each event - promotion, booking
facilities, staffing, admin etc.
- Process and organize incoming event registrations and fees
- Hire and manage field staff for events
- Manage events by personally attending and/or delegating
to field staff
- Develop and execute annual Marketing Plan for ESSC leagues
and events
- Develop and maintain sponsor bar relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and national
sponsorships
- Help the ESSC sports admin manage and run leagues
Experience:
- College or University degree
- High level of computer competence
- Leadership experience
- Event planning or management experience will be an asset
Qualifications:
