Dodgeball
Rule: Dangerous High Throws
Details: The second dangerous high throw in any game results in a major warning where you have to sit out for the remainder of the game. You can also be given a major warning for having repeated high throw warnings in a match.
Why we have it: To protect players
Clarifications:
1) A throw is only considered a “Head Shot” if it actually makes contact with an opponents head.
2) If you are protecting your face, and another ball hits you below your shoulders, you are out.
3) If a ball hits you above your shoulders, and you are protecting your face with your arms (so the ball hits your arms) you are not out, the thrower is out (and returns to the rotation to come back in).
Repercussions:
Minor Warning – The player should apologize and play continues.
Major Warning – The player will sit out for the remainder of the game. The team will play short-handed for the remainder of the game.
Ejection – The GC may choose to eject a player from a game or match. Once a player has been ejected they must leave the facility immediately. The team can field six players for the remainder of the match.
