Attention procrastinators: This season, any team registration received after 4pm on September 21st will be subject to an additional 10% fee. This fee has been put in place to help solidify league numbers in preparation for the Player’s Meetings. By encouraging teams to register earlier, we hope leagues sell out earlier thereby giving us more time to determine divisions and facility needs. Doing so will allow us to give players updates regarding their status in the league farther in advance to the season starting. Don’t get yourself put in the “10% penalty box”, register today!

Now Hiring
Hi Everyone!
Lori here, the General Manager of the Edmonton Sport and Social Club. I am excited to let you all know that we are now hiring for 2 new full time, permanent positions with the ESSC. Over the past five years I have watched the Club grow from just 32 teams our first season to almost 600 this season. It has been a very exciting venture and I feel incredibly lucky to have met so many of you guys!
The next step for the ESSC is to add a full time Marketing Manager to help us grow our leagues, tournaments and parties and to hire another Sports Admin to run our volunteer (EC) program and help manage our leagues and teams. Currently we have a very solid team but need to add two more players to our roster to ensure that we provide the best experience possible to each and every one of our players.
I have a very clear vision on the type of person I want for each position.
Marketing Manager – I am looking for someone that is energetic, intelligent and eager to learn. The successful applicant will be willing to work hard ( often more than 40 hours a week ) and must want to be out meeting the players and enhancing their experience with the Club. This position has the potential to be very rewarding, the Marketing Manager will grow into a role whereby they decide and manage all special event and marketing tactics that the ESSC undertakes. Click Here for more information.
Sports Administrator – I need someone that has a knack for organization and wants to make our volunteers (EC’s) WANT to come back season after season. The successful applicant will recruit, train, and manage our entire Event Coordinator program (approx 40-50 volunteers / season), as well as help in day to day operations at the ESSC such as handling registrations, processing standings and providing exceptional customer service. The successful applicant must be very detail oriented, if you are not this is not a good fit for you. Click Here for more information.
If you or someone you know fits the description please apply by following the online instructions. I have already received almost 60 applications between the two positions, so if you want a chance to work here don’t wait too long to apply!

Team GC - Are you Game?
Team GC is a unique group of part-time employees who are dedicated sports enthusiasts, and want to take their participation with the Club to the next level. Whether you want to GET PAID to GET IN THE ACTION, or you want to meet new friends, this is the perfect opportunity!
Here is what a one GC had to say about becoming a GC:
“When I first moved to Edmonton it was hard to meet new people and to find part time work that really works around a University school schedule. The ESSC ended up being a great place for me to work and it satisfied my two greatest needs at the time; flexibility and interaction with others.” – Missy
GC’s are an integral part of the Club and all Floor Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, and Dodgeball leagues. If you are outgoing, confidant, reliable, organized, and a sports enthusiast, this is the place to be! As a GC you will develop your leadership skills, learn more about the Club, and meet a lot of great people.
If you don’t believe how great this opportunity is check out what this GC had to say:
“If you are passionate about the sport(s) you GC then it won't even seem like work. The fact that The Sports Club has regular parties and gives you a lot of free stuff isn't bad either!” – Evan
We are looking to stack our team for the Fall Season, which begins September 26th. Interviews will be held the last two weeks of August, so if you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please Click Here!

Help Train our Fall GC’s

Teams of the Week |
Week 1 Winners |
|
School of Bryan (S.O.B.) - The team started out in the fall 2007 indoor soccer season with the name "Ballas". In Summer 2008, we changed our name to "School of Bryan (S.O.B.). Our team is all about sportsmanship, having fun and keeping it real. As a result, this is our fourth Lady Bing nomination. We have yet to break into the top 4 in our division, but you never know. This just may be our season. Go SOB's!!!
|
Week 2 Winners |
|
Oznucks - The Oznuks were formed because one Aussie and a couple of crazy Canucks wanted to get out there and have a good time kicking the ball around once a week. Friends of friends came to join the party and we were a team. All but a couple of us are soccer newbies but we're thinking of this as our warm-up season before the skill starts to kick in. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Eh! Eh! Eh! |
