v2.0 Issue 23 - October, 2009

Pics of the Week:

At the ESSC we think it is a bit early for the winter weather we are having right now. It is kind of hard to believe that just a month ago we were partying it up in Sylvan with temperatures hitting the 30 degree mark.

The Fall Season Has Begun!

I hope that everyone's season has started off great! It has been a record setting Fall for us here at the ESSC as we had 645 teams register this season, our biggest Fall yet!

We have sent a mailout to all team captains this season which includes new sponsor bar cards for you and your team. These get you great discounts and freebies at all Edmonton Hudsons, Canadian Brewhouse and Players Sports Bar locations, like free wings for every 2 players and 20% off Sleeman before 8pm. So, win or lose, make sure you take advantage of these cards and have yourself a post game celebration with your team.

If you have not yet received your sponsorbar cards, please check with your captain as the mailout would have been sent to them. If your captain has not recieved cards, or if you require more please contact the ESSC.

We have made some significant upgrades to our standings software this season, you many noticed a bit of a new look. For the uniniatiated, we do post all teams' standings online so that you can see who is in contention for the playoffs and inevitably the coveted ESSC League Champ Shirts. Feel free to check out your standings via the links below.

Welcome Jason! The New ESSC Marketing Manager

Hello there! I am thrilled to be on board with the club as marketing manager.  I joined the club as a player in the fall of 2007, and have played in various leagues ever since. I received a bachelor of business administration from St. Francis Xavier University (X) in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.  Upon completion of my degree, I immersed myself in the Calgary landscaping industry as a franchise manager.  However, with my girlfriend doing her masters at U of A, we packed up and moved to the City if Champions!

I look forward to utilizing several skills I gained in the landscaping industry which I feel are highly transferable. My favorite sports include floor hockey, soccer, and dodgeball. If there is any way I can help anybody involved in the club, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Sincerely,

Jason Bridger
ESSC Marketing Manager
