Head to Head Lori vs. Fitz on UFC 104
It is no secret that there are a few UFC fans in the office. So we thought that we could tap their "expert" minds for their fight predictions on Saturday's match-ups.

Fitz Says:
Machida will continue his dominance in the light heavyweight division with his first title defense over Mauricio Rua. Shogun is known for his early finishes so look for Lyoto to weather any early attacks and as Rua tires in the championship rounds, Machida will finish the fight. I'm predicting Machida via 4th round KO.
MAIN CARD
Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Ben Rothwell vs. Cain Velasquez
Josh Neer vs. Gleison Tibau
Spencer Fisher vs. Joe Stevenson
Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
SPIKE TV CARD
Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer
Patrick Barry vs. Antoni Hardonk |

Lori Says:
As much as I hate to agree with Fitz, I think that Machida (The Dragon) will remain the Light Heavy Weight champ. Shogun is an incredibly beautiful (all girls appreciate his fight apparel), exciting , hard hitting and talented fighter; however, this is a classic battle of brains vs beauty/bronze . Shogun definitely has the bronze and beauty; however, Machida is too smart to lose this fight… he is patient, strategic and will finish Shogun (shed a tear here) by KO in the 3rd round.

Fitz and I generally do not pick a lot of the same fighters to win, unfortunately this time we did… whoever wins will only do so by a couple fights, should be interesting!! We will be at Players Sports Bar for the fights, hopefully we will see some of you there!
The Bet: Loser has to make coffee for the office for 1 week. |

Halloween Costume Commentary with Chris and Jason
The best part of Halloween is the parties, and if you want to get noticed when you head out to celebrate the season, you need to have the right costume. 2008 was the year of the bat, or perhaps more accuratly the joker, so we take a look at what what we think might be some of the trends, for good and bad.
Transformers - To be honest I never saw the movie, the second one anyway, but I can still appreciate when someone breaks down 27 cardboard boxes, to meticulously craft the shell of a 2009 Camaro-turned-robot around their body. Bonus points if you can actually transform.

Michael Jackson - When his death shocked the world this Spring it was inevitable that this pop icon would walk the streets again this halloween. This could win the prize for being the most obvious and redundant choice for a costume. The question is do you go for black Michael or white Michael, or is it just too soon?
Pic 1 Pic 2
The Watchmen - I am a big Watchmen fan, so I have to say it pains me a little to see them sell out into the costume market. But that said there really is something for everyone. You can go as a one off or as a group and it works great either way. The ladies can slip into a sexy Silk Spectre outfit and guys can go with a rubberized Night Owl or Ozymandias uniforms, or opt for blue body paint and a thong...or not.

Clever Costumes - Now don't be too clever, if your Halloween destination is anything like mine you will be lucky if people "get it" past the first round of drinks and really do you want to have to explain who or what you are supposed to be at all, let alone 50 times in a night? The best part about a clever costume is that it is generally easy to make and if done right can really say something unique about yourself.

Try this at home:
Don Zimmer - Dress in proper Yankee attire, and then dive head first through each person's front door.
A 56k Modem - Go to someone's front door and ring the bell. They open the door and see a kid in a cardboard box with two eyeholes. Wait 4-6 minutes and say "trick or treat". Receive the candy, wait another 4-6 minutes and say "thank-you".
The guy too busy talking on his cell phone to take care of the matter at hand.
Knock on a door, and when they open it, hold up your index finger signaling "one second, plz" while you carry on with your conversation. After a few seconds, realize that the conversation will take too long, and hold out your bag for them to put candy in. Then hold up an open hand as if to say "thanks.
