A Great Summer For Volleyball
The ESSC has always had great indoor and beach volleyball followings, hosting close to 1000 teams a year! But this summer is going to be the best ever!
For the summer 2011 season, we have taken huge steps to increase the capacity and improve the overall experience of our Beach leagues by working to develop 4 additional courts located at the Lendrum facility. In addition to new courts, the area will be licensed for special events and music will be pumping each evening to create an awesome atmosphere, designated as our new Beach Volleyball headquarters!
To help take advantage of these headquarters, we will be hosting a Beach volleyball tournament in August.

ESSC Open House - June 24th
The ESSC is having an open house and everyone is invited! We are planning a night of sports, food, drinks and partying for players to connect, meet new friends and introduce newbies to the world of social sports.
Date: Friday, June 24, 2011
Time: 6:30pm and extends into the night
Location: Lendrum, 113A Street- 56 Avenue
Cost to Attend: FREE!
Sports: You will be able to participate in a variety of sports with ESSC representatives to explain the rules and keep the games organized. Play Beach Volleyball, Slo-Pitch, Ultimate, Soccer , Kickball, Bocce, Horseshoes and more.
Food: The ESSC will be grilling up lots of food, including bacon!
Molson Beer Gardens: There will be an on-site beer gardens with cheap Molson, Molson M, Coors Light, Fireball Whisky and coolers available.
Extras: There will also be music, door prizes (includng a grand prize Edmonton Capitals box seat package for you and 15 friends!) and sport challenges. Plus, Sonic 102.9's Intern Army will be onsite giving away prizes and making noise!

Do You Like Obscure Sports?
One of the ESSCs most popular sports is Dodgeball. Dodgeball started to gain popularity after the movie "Dodgeball, a True Underdog Story" hit theatres in mid 2004. Kickball, another childhood favorite, and Beach Dodgeball are two other obscure sports we offer.
Playing an obscure sport is compelling because:
a) No one has an edge in regards to experience so anyone can play!
b) It's crazy and unique
c) It takes us back to playing games as a kid

Summer League Registration is now open! The registration deadline is Thursday, July 7 and the season will begin the week of Sunday, July 17. Make sure you sign up early; our Summer leagues sell out very quickly!
