Summer 2008 Players,
Week 1 is here and we hope you are excited for the upcoming
season. It looks like the weather is going to be spectacular
for the first week of games! Before you head out, please
make sure you are informed and up to date with all the ESSC
rules and policies.

You Need to Know Before Your First Game... |

Permits
The
Slo-Pitch and Soccer permits are posted on our website on
your schedules page. Please print the page that has your
field on it before leaving for your game. If another group
is trying to play on our field, show them the permit to
reclaim your field, but always do so in a respectful manner.

*Ultimate and Flag Football players can count on their Event
Coordinator to bring the permit.
Fields
The SSC prides itself on ensuring that the fields that you
play on are in good shape. That is why we have hired a full
time Field Maintenance Coordinator to maintain and improve
the fields that we use. If you spot a problem at a field,
please let us know by emailing the issue to info@edmontonsportsclub.com.
We will send out our maintenance person to check the field
and make any necessary repairs or improvements.

Submitting your Scores
Slo-Pitch / Soccer
Scores must be submitted by the captain or other representative
from each Slo-Pitch or Soccer team prior to 5pm the following
day. Teams not submitting their scores on time will receive
a 0 spirit rating and the opposing team’s submitted
score will be taken as correct. This is done through the scores
tab in your league page. The username is “tc”,
and the password is “tcreport”.

Flag Football / Beach Volleyball / Ultimate
Team Captains must report their scores to the Event Coordinator
(EC) after each game at the field/court.

Equipment
All Slo-Pitch and Soccer teams are provided equipment from
the SSC (with a refundable deposit). If you have not yet
picked up equipment from the Club, please contact the club
immediately to make arrangements. You can reach us by phone
at 780.429.4263 or email info@edmontonsportsclub.com.
The deposit required for Slo-Pitch and Soccer equipment
is as follows:
All Soccer equipment: $20
Rec Slo-Pitch: $40
Rec Plus/ Intermediate Slo-Pitch: $80
Please
bring a Visa or Mastercard for the deposit. We do not accept
debit.
Flag Football / Beach Volleyball / Ultimate
Your Event Coordinator will have equipment at the
games for you.

Weather
Policy
The
weather policy has been updated for the Summer 2008 season.
Please review this prior to your first game. Games will fall
under the Rain or Shine Policy unless the fields have been
closed by the City of Edmonton. This means unless the fields
have been closed a minimum roster from your team is required
to show up (you may then choose whether or not conditions
are safe to play) or you will default the game.

Waivers
All players are required to a sign waiver prior to playing
their first game. Due to certain legalities, we also require
that a new waiver is filled out each season you play. If you
have not yet filled out the waiver, you must do it before
your first game. Team Captains are responsible for making
sure all teammates complete the waiver. To fill out the waiver

Standings
After the first 2 weeks of the season standings will be updated
online within 48 hours of a game being played. If there are
any discrepancies in the standings contact the club right
away so the issue can be resolved. *Please note
that we are currently having problems with our Rec Plus and
Intermediate standings. These leagues will be updated as soon

Sponsor
Bars
All
Summer SSC Players are entitled to great deals at various
pubs and restaurants after you play your games. Present your
sponsor bar card at a sponsor bar to receive discounts and
even free food and drinks. Click

locations. If you did not receive a sponsor bar card or require
more for your team, please fill out this
form.

Drinking
on the Field
Drinking is a finable offence. Please do not drink while
playing. Also, please do not litter, smoke, or urinate on
the fields. Bringing barbeques to fields is not permitted.
If our players are caught doing any of the above, the SSC
could lose the field and the team will be removed from the
league.

Default
Policy
Any
team who defaults a game must pay a $50 default fee prior
to playing their next game. Team’s who are defaulted
against will receive a $50 refund onto the credit card that
their team used to register with. Singles teams who are defaulted
against will be contacted regarding a solution. The SSC reserves
the right to replace your team for your next game if the default
fee has not been paid.
