the season…

The
staff at the ESSC have long felt fortunate to live in such
an amazing city, and to be able to offer such a fun service.
We feel that after years and years of unrivaled growth,
we are at a place where we can find a way to start giving
back.
“But
isn’t this a sports club?” you say…”why
would I want to think about getting involved in my community!
I just wanted to run around then drink beer at one of your
fabulous sponsor bars!” And I agree, those are fun
and exciting things that the ESSC has been promoting for
five years now. We’re about to start moving into something
a little bit different.
Our
organization brings together hundreds of people every night.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could take some of this
energy and use it to make our city better? What if we could
get together to clean up an inner city park? Or help to
build a home for someone that needs it? Or raised money
for any of the worthy charities that desperately need help?
In the
coming months we are going to start looking for ways to
make a positive impact in the community that has helped
us to offer such a fun program. In the past year I was fortunate
enough to be able to go work on the Obama campaign in the
states. Watching people who had never been involved before,
never taken a leadership role step up and work to what they
saw as making a positive difference in their community was
inspiring. This kind of empowerment is something that we
have the capability for, it can take as little as a few
hours and the difference we can make is tremendous.
