The origin of our team name started last spring when we started an ESSC beach volleyball team and one of our team members (of course a boy) thought that Scorgasms would be an appropriate name. We then figured that our volleyball team would be better at playing soccer, so we joined soccer in the fall season for indoor and just started playing outdoor this summer. Our team formed starting with our beach volleyball players and talking with old friends from high school to gain actual soccer players so we would not do as badly as we did in beach volleyball. The previous spring season we played indoor and became indoor recreational champions, which made our team extremely excited and decided to play outdoor in the summer and gain a new and exciting challenge with some of us never playing outdoor soccer before.
The favourite aspect of soccer is that it gives everyone a chance to play a certain position even if you have never played soccer before or if you are the opposite and have played soccer your entire life. Also, the excitement on our entire teams face as we get a goal and everyone squints and says "WAS THAT IN? IS THAT A GOAL? YAYYY!". Our team varies in skill level so soccer is a great sport, I love reuniting with old friends and having such a fun time when we are playing soccer, even if it is in the rain!
