Pajama Party!

Our March 2019 Curling FunSpiel was so. much. fun! The event was a sell-out and 32 teams joined us out on the ice for our annual March event! The theme was ‘Pajama Party’ and players rolled right out of bed and into the rink in their best pajama garb. HUGE thanks to our amazing hosts at Shamrock Curling Club who put up with our nonsense each time, and give our players nothing but the best on the ice, in the lounge, and in their bellies! Shamrock Curling Club is partnered up with Drift Food Truck who runs the concession and if you’ve never had the chance to experience any of the mouth-watering items on Drift’s menu, I feel sorry for you son. When you’re excited to eat your breakfast, lunch, AND dinner all at Shamrock during the FunSpiel, you know the food’s good.

At our Curling FunSpiels, the actual Curling can often come second to the fun. It is a ‘Really Recreational’ event… seriously, that’s how we label it… and it’s as much about the activities/games in the lounge upstairs as it is about the score on the ice. In true ‘Pajama Party’ fashion, we had sleeping bag relay races, played a round of cartoon trivia, made friendship bracelets, and had a slug race across the lounge, all so players could win a fresh jug of their favourite brew for their team. Thanks to some sweet donations from our Partners like Fireball Whisky, we also dished out tons of door prizes, ran a contest for best costumes (which was a no-brainer… the men dressed as playboy bunnies won) and gave out a brand-new Curling broom!

As a final touch, we knew it just wouldn’t be a Pajama Party without a little Magic School Bus, TMNT, or Sonic the Hedgehog, so we hooked our players up and had cartoons playing on the TV all day long.

Our next tournament will be held on November 23, 2019 and this event ALWAYS sells out (we had an 8-team waitlist for this March event!). If you want to be a part of the action, keep your eye on our site in late September when registration opens and get yourself registered early! See you there.
