A NEW SPIRIT POINT SYSTEM IS IN TOWN. At the Sport and Social Club, ‘improvement’ is the name of the game. We are constantly seeking feedback from our players because our Club wouldn’t be our Club without you. Over the past several months, our team has been working on a full overhaul of our Spirit Point System to better match what our players value most, and to make our processes for managing sportsmanship issues at league nights cleaner and faster. This past Winter 2023 season, several divisions were selected to trial the new system and provide their feedback. Their feedback?

Most players are aware of the City’s involvement in sports field maintenance, but not many are aware of the Club’s involvement. Call it a humble brag, but we’re proud of the program we’ve built and we want YOU to know about it.

To win the game you will need a strong kicking order. We wanted to share a few tips and tricks on scorekeeping and creating a killer, yet legal, kicking order.

Scorekeeping:

Earlier this season we explored ways to dominate the outfield, but that is only half the game! Today we are going to outline some strategies for the offense and how to maximize the potential of your runs and kicking line up.

While Kickball is arguably one of the most fun, laid back sports we offer, it is still a sport! With any sport comes strategy and potential to improve. There are ways to strategize both offensively and defensively to maximize your game. Today, we will be laying out some outfield strategies and defensive tips.

Spring Kickball is officially underway and teams are getting back in to the swing of things! In our last article, we gave some tips on how to kick the ball differently depending on the result wanted. In this instalment, we will be looking at fielding and different plays you can make or look for to maximize your defensive results.

The Block

We get it, you’re at your game and urine it to win it but then nature calls. You’re a whiz when it comes to sports but don’t always plan ahead. Well in our ESSC leagues, you bladder plan ahead as that would be golden! Okay, these puns are getting ex-stream.

Spring is approaching quickly and as is the first Kickball season of the year. With that, it is time to get pumped and get out there and play!

If you are anything like the average Kickball player, it has probably been ~ 200 days since you last kicked a ball which can be an issue if this is your year and you want to claim the League Championship! That’s where we come in, to provide some handy tips on how to best kick the ball in different situations.

Everyone benefits when everyone is in the know! We are excited to be rolling out Phase Two of our Online Player Orientations (OPOs) as part of our commitment to ensuring players are set up for a successful season.

In the Spring 2017 season we eliminated in-person Pre-Season player meetings, by popular demand, replacing them with an Online Orientation. As part of our continued effort to improve the player experience and the Online Player Orientation, our team has been hard at work on enhancements that we are proud to be rolling out for the Fall 2017 season!
