Marketing Team Testimonial and ESSC Culture

Overview:
The SSC culture (Edmonton and Calgary offices), is based on a performance oriented environment. We place a strong emphasis on hiring exceptional people and giving them all of the support that they need to excel in their roles. New staff are given strong support and direction, but are encouraged to gain freedom through commitment and results. Weekly goal setting meetings with their manager help each staff person to have a plan for success. Ongoing skill development sessions increase admin staff and managers’ effectiveness in their roles. We also like to have fun: frequent staff outings, participation on staff sport teams, out of town trips to Banff, Sylvan Lake, Calgary, etc. are a few examples of our play hard, work hard mentality.

Our current Marketing team in particular consists of four amazing staff (3 Calgary, 1 Edmonton) who have over 24 years of combined experience as SSC Marketing Managers. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with all Marketing Managers and will be mentored by our Sr ESSC Marketing Manager, Caitlin.

A note from our current MMs:

Hello from the Sport & Social Club Marketing Team! We consist of Caitlin from the Edmonton Club (ESSC) and Michelle, Jason and Kate from the Calgary Club (CSSC). Together we have over 20 years of combined Sports Club experience (can we get an ‘oooooh’ and an ‘ahhhhh’?) With over 20 annual tournaments in Edmonton, 4500+ league teams each year, close to 40 Sponsor Bars, and over a dozen partnerships, there’s no shortage of work to go around. However, if you’re reading this, you likely know that we are short 1 ESSC Marketing Manager!

The Edmonton and Calgary marketing teams work very closely with one another. This one-team approach ensures that we’re all on the same page, allows for idea sharing, and well, we also just really enjoy each other’s company!

This Marketing Manager position is a great opportunity that should not be passed up. The relationships you’ll build with the ESSC/CSSC staff and our players, and the marketing/special event experience you’ll gain, is second to none. Lastly, don’t let the sporty/fun exterior fool you, although we do have a lot of fun in the office, there’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes of your favourite Sports Club. If you’re up for the challenge, we hope to see your application.
