Where Squash Meets Tennis & Pickeball
Welcome to Padel! Imagine a racquet-based sport played on an enclosed court, surrounded by glass walls that let you bounce the ball off of them for epic, game-changing plays. Sounds incredible, right? Padel is sweeping the globe, as it’s easy to pick up and endlessly exciting, perfect for beginners and seasoned athletes alike.
After your game, meet up with your teammates and other players to enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at one of the ESSC's many Sponsor Bars around Edmonton.
Padel has entered the chat as the ESSC's newest sport!
Winter, Spring, Fall: 9-weeks
Summer: 8-weeks
All teams play once a week on the day they select when registering.
Evening Leagues: 6pm to 10:30pm
Morning Leagues: 8am to 11am
While our leagues are self-officiated, there is an Event Coordinator onsite to help manage equipment, time and scores. Matches are best-of-three and bookings are typically 90-minutes to 2-hours long.
These leagues are 'double opponent,' meaning you get double the fun: you get to play two matches each night against two different opponents.
Doubles - Co-ed
Games are played 2 on 2 with at least one female player on the court.
Doubles - Open
Games are played 2 on 2 with no specific gender requirements.
Divisions are based on the experience and skills of a team - not on their competitive behaviour! No matter what skill level you register for, all players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning-second' attitude.
Please note that the below divisions may not be offered every season or day. If you have any questions about the different skill levels or where to place yourself, just call us!
This division is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Some players may still be learning the rules of Padel, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If both of the main players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.
When registering a full team, there is no limit to the maximum number of players you can have on the roster. Minimum female player requirements are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female. |
Citywide
Games are played at a variety of locations throughout the season.
Facility-Specific
Games are played at just the one location listed in that offering for the duration of the season.
*The Event Coordinator (EC) only brings a handful of racquets to the facility; players are encouraged to bring their own. |
