Games Coordinators are essential to ESSC leagues and play a huge role in ensuring that all players enjoy themselves each and every night. The ESSC GC Team is continuously growing and although there are many excellent members out at the games, each season the Club recognizes a select few with the GC of the Season Award.

Each winner is nominated through player submissions, ESSC Staff recommendations, and/or based off the Field Staff Manager and GC Head Trainer evaluations. The goal is to award those that display a positive and friendly attitude, while at the same time getting involved with the games and providing players with the best experience possible.

Winter 2022

Games Coordinator Bio

Jenn Robinson - MTS

Sport: Multi-sport
Rookie Season: 2020

I've been playing with the ESSC since 2013, EC'ing for several years since then and officially began working as a GC in early 2020. My favorite part about being with the club is the flexible hours and the ability to work in a sporting environment. I grew up playing club soccer and volleyball and have always enjoyed playing and learning new sports. I'm happy to be apart of such a friendly and fun team.

Max Dufour - Dodgeball

Sport: Dodgeball
Rookie Season: 2022

I first played with the ESSC in the summer of 2020. Having really enjoyed my experience, I went on to play 1-2 sports per season ever since. Winter 2022 was my first season as GC and I really enjoyed my experience. When I'm on the court/field with the teams, I'm just having fun! I've created good bonds with tons of players and was always happy to show up and GC them. Anyone with an interest in sports and a desire to meet new people and have fun should look into being a GC with the ESSC. Stay active folks :)

Cicero Viana - Soccer

Sport: Multisport
Rookie Season: 2018

Being part of the ESSC GCs team has been an incredible opportunity. Sport has always been part of my life, as fun, as a way to make friends, keep in shape and meet people. But I had never had the opportunity to work in sports, and this season all of that happened.

It is possible to work and have fun at the same time :)

But mainly, I was very well received by the ESSC team, from the first day I felt part of the team and I'm happy working with the sport that I love so much.
I am excited for new seasons to come so that I can continue to grow and evolve in this team.

Sly Chan - Ball Hockey

Sport: Ball Hockey
Rookie Season: 2018

Been a GC with the club since 2018 and a player back in 2010. My favorite part of the job is the people I meet, and the friendly staff I get to interact with. The ESSC community is fantastic and that's why I am still here. I've developed many new friendships and hockey relationships along the way and look forward to building more. I don't play hockey much anymore but at least I get to GC and watch it weekly! Getting old is LAME!

Askim Chundu - Basketball

Sport: Basketball
Rookie Season: 2022

I enjoy GC'ing because I love sport and the sporting environment. From a young age playing sports has always made me feel grounded, alive, and at home; and so being in that sporting environment night after night, though now as a games coordinator instead of a player, still gives me that sense of wholeness and joy. Furthermore, teaches me to become a better communicator, more balanced in judgement, and personable. I've also grown to really appreciate the leadership and people that support our GC team!
