This isn't a child's game anymore!
Get ready to dodge, duck, dip, and dive into one of the ESSC's most social sports. There is no prerequisite for playing as most people haven't touched a dodgeball since elementary school, and ESSC Dodgeball Leagues are all co-ed and recreational.
After your game, meet up with your teammates and other players to enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at one of the ESSC's many Sponsor Bars around Edmonton!
Winter, Spring, Fall: 9-weeks
Summer: 8-weeks
All teams play once a week on the day they select when registering.
Evening Leagues: 6pm to 10:30pm
While our leagues are self-officiated, there is a Games Coordinator onsite to help manage equipment, time and scores. Matches are 60 minutes long including a 5-minute warm-up and 5-minute half-time, and teams will play as many games as possible within the 60-minute time limit.
Foam - Co-ed
Games are played 6 on 6 with a minimum of two female players on the court, and use 8.25" foam core balls that are easier to grip, lighter, smaller, softer, and allow for a non-threatening, no-sting experience.
Rubber - Co-ed
Games are played 6 on 6 with a minimum of two female players on the court, and use 8.5" rubber balls that are heavier, harder, and have more bounce.
Divisions are based on the experience and skills of a team - not on their competitive behaviour! No matter what skill level you register for, all players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning-second' attitude.
Please note that the below divisions may not be offered every season or day. If you have any questions about the different skill levels or where to place yourself, just call us!
This division is for players and teams who are brand-new or relatively new to the sport. If more than a couple of players on the team are experienced, the team should move to a higher level.
This division is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Some players may still be learning the rules of Dodgeball, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If the majority of players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.
When registering a full team, there is no limit to the maximum number of players you can have on the roster. Minimum female player requirements are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female. |
