You miss 100% of the SSCHL games you don't register for.
The SSCHL - Sport and Social Club Hockey League - is your newest way to play recreational 5 on 5 Hockey in Edmonton. Our league is made for people getting back into the sport, looking to build their skill, or who just want to hit the ice with a little less heat than other leagues.
After your game, meet up with your teammates and other players to enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at one of the ESSC's many Sponsor Bars around Edmonton!
9-weeks
Evening Leagues: 6pm to 10:30pm
Some games will start at 5:45pm due to facility availability
All SSCHL games have two Referees and one Timekeeper onsite. Games are 60-minutes in length; periods 1 and 2 are 15-minute run-time and period 3 is 20-minute run-time. There's a 3-minute warm-up at the start of each game and a fresh flood in between all games.
5 on 5 - Open
Games are played 5 on 5 (not including the goalie) with no specific gender requirements.
Divisions are based on the experience and skills of a team - not on their competitive behaviour! No matter what skill level you register for, all players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning-second' attitude.
If you have any questions about the different skill levels or where to place yourself, just call us!
This division is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Some players may still be learning the rules of Ice Hockey, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If the majority of players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.
When registering a full team, there is no limit to the maximum number of players you can have on the roster. Minimum female player requirements are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female. |
