Game Format

  • All Ultimate Leagues are run as either double or single opponent.
    • Double Opponent - teams will play two matches per night against different opponents.
    • Single Opponent - teams will play one match per night.
  • All Ultimate Leagues use an Event Coordinator (EC).
  • All Ultimate Leagues are self-officiated.
  • All field bookings are 1.75 hours in length.
  • Single Opponent - games consist of two 40 minute halves, with a 10 minute half time.
  • Double Opponent - games consist of two 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time.
  • ​If the game is tied after regulation, it will be considered a tie, no extra time is played.

Season Length

  • All 8 Week (Spring/Summer) Ultimate Leagues use the following structure:
    • 7 weeks of regular season games.
    • 1 week of playoff games.
  • All 5 Week (Fall) Ultimate Leagues use the following structure:
    • 4 weeks of regular season games.
    • 1 week of playoff games.
  • In cases where rain-outs occur, games are made up via double-headers or season extensions (1-2 weeks).
  • Games are always played on the Monday of long weekends.

 

Playoffs

  • Playoff Format: Spring / Summer (8 Week)
    • All teams are guaranteed 1 week of playoff games (2 matches).
    • Only the Top 4 teams will compete for the League Championship.
       
  • ​Playoff Format: Fall (5 Week)
    • All teams are guaranteed 1 week of playoff games (2 matches).
    • Only the Top 4 teams will compete for the League Championship.
       
  • League champs will receive t-shirts that can be picked up from the Season-end Party.
  • There are no ties in playoffs. 
    • If the score is tied at the end of regulation:
      • The game will go to a sudden death first point overtime.
      • Teams will flip the disc to decide who will receive the huck.

  • When registering a full team, there is no limit to the maximum number of players that can be on the roster.
  • Prior to the first game of the season, teams must have the total number of players required on the field (in the above chart) confirmed on the roster in MyESSC.
    • If the minimum amount of confirmed roster players is not met, the team will receive a loss for every game played until the requirement is met.
    • Minimum female requirements are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female (i.e. players who identify as M or X do not count towards F minimums).
  • Prior to the first playoff game, teams must have all players who are playing in the playoff game(s) displayed as part of the confirmed roster in MyESSC.
    • If this requirement is not met, teams will receive an automatic loss and will not be eligible for the championship.
