Multi-Sport

We all grew up playing traditional sports like Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball, but how many of us had a chance to play sports like Handball, Ultimate Frisbee or Curling?! Here at the ESSC, we like to call the latter sports mentioned “Fringe Sports”. One awesome aspect of Multi-Sport is that you have the opportunity to be exposed to sports you wouldn’t have ordinarily registered for and can test the waters of a sport you’d love to potentially pursue further!

Multi-Sport (MTS) has been our most unique offering since it was introduced in Winter 2015 and the playoffs are no different! One of the best aspects of Multi-Sport is the playoff structure. Since MTS was such a unique breed, we needed a unique playoff format to keep players engaged and level the playing field. 

It’s our only sport where players actually get to have a say in their playoff match-up. Here’s how it works:

Whether you are a veteran ESSCer or are new to the Club, you know that all of our leagues are self-officiated. Yes, we run our leagues this way on purpose, and no, it’s not because we don’t want to deal with the added cost of a referee.

The ESSC is above all a fun-first league that focuses on “play”; namely, “adult play.” We always position ourselves in this way and we truly believe in our fun-first, winning-second philosophy. We also believe that most adults can regulate themselves appropriately in play, so why give someone a babysitter when they don’t need it?
