Let’s be honest here. Everyone is constantly in pursuit of the same thing in life. We all strive to attain the same goal and solve the seemingly unsolvable question: how do I get free beer?
Thankfully, we may have solved this timeless riddle! Introducing the Doubles Board:
The Doubles Board is a fun initiative that allows one team each week to win a free pitcher of beer. In order to be that one lucky team, you will need to knock at least two of your opponents rocks out of the house in one shot. If you are skilled (or lucky) enough to make this shot, you can then grab the Doubles Board and place it next to your scoreboard. Then cross your fingers, hold your teammates hands, and say a prayer because your fate is now out of your hands. If another team makes a double takeout shot before the conclusion of the fourth end, they can steal the Doubles Board away from you. But, if you are lucky enough to be holding the Doubles Board when everyone has finished the fourth end of their respective game, you have successfully cracked the timeless riddle. The free beer is all yours and can be claimed by bringing the Doubles Board up to the bartender.
To make this as easy as possible, I have laid out the steps to win free beer:
- Play in an ESSC Curling League.
- Make a double takeout shot before the conclusion of the 4th end.
- Take the Doubles Board and place it next to your scoreboard.
- Pray that no other team makes a double takeout and steals the board from you.
- Bring Doubles Board to the bartender at the conclusion of the 4th end.
- Drink a full pitcher of beer.
